Frequently Asked Questions

Over the past couple of years I've had many brides and grooms get in touch, and many of you ask very similar (and very important) questions. So I thought I'd make it easy and compile a FAQ, which may include some things you hadn't even thought of yet!

Do you have backup equipment?

Yes - there is no way I will be taking any chances with equipment failure on your wedding day!

How long have you been shooting weddings?

I started in professional photography five years ago, but started specialising in weddings and portraits over three years ago.

What happens if you are ill on the day?

I take the commitment to shoot your wedding very seriously and will do everything in my power to be there, even if I am unwell. However should the worst happen, I have access to a large community of professional wedding photographers who are readily available at short notice.

What kind of albums do you offer?

I offer hardback magazine style and traditional overlay albums. You are welcome to come to visit and view some sample albums.

Do you offer a CD of images? How many images are included?

I offer a CD of low resolution images with each package. These low-resolution image files are watermarked photos saved on a disc so that you can e-mail easily or post online, but these images can’t be printed.

Can we use your photos on facebook, MySpace etc?

Sure - subject to you putting a link to my site with each image!

Do you offer retouching services?

I do some digital retouching during the editing stages as I see fit. Additional requests are costed at $50 p/h.

Will you visit the venue beforehand?

I include a venue visit in all my packages. Usually this is done with the couple - especially if we haven't met before the booking. It's a good idea so I can plan where to do portraits of the bride and groom, and to understand where best to place myself during the ceremony.

Do you offer engagement shoots?

A fantastic thing to do is to organise an engagement shoot during your venue visit with me. This gets you both warmed up to being in front of a camera and also results in some great photos that you can show off either as an album or on invitations etc. I also offer annual anniversary shoots which is a lovely way to tell the story of your new life together year on year. Both these kind of shoots are $250, but I offer a discount if you are also having your wedding with me.

If I book you for my wedding, when is the payment due?

To secure your date in my calendar I need a deposit of at least $500. The full amount will then be due 2 weeks prior to your wedding date. Because there is high demand for key dates all deposits are non-transferable.

Do you shoot in colour or black & white?

I shoot digital. So this means that I capture the images in colour…but later, I treat each picture and process it according to what I think looks best. That means some photos will be colour, some will be black and white and some will have other treatments to suit the mood.
